Johnston and Murphy is an upscale shoe company that can trace its roots all the way back to 1850, with the first store being: the William J. Dudley Shoe Company. Traditionally, the brand was known for creating fine leather shoes for men in a classic English shoemaking style. Over the years, the company has shifted to incorporate fine leather shoes for women, a change that was certainly helped along by the growing trend in menswear for women (lace-ups and oxfords are some of their more popular shoes). They have also applied their craftsmanship of fine leather products to luggage, apparel and accessories.
